Storm King’s Thunder - Adventure Log
Chapter 1 - Nightstone
Session of 3/23/2017

Location: In the northwest part of the continent of Faerun, between the coastal cities of Waterdeep and Daggerfall, resides Nightstone.
Lady Velrosa NandarLady Velrosa Nandar, the High Steward of Nightstone, has been the sole ruler of this small fortified town since her husband Lord Drezlin Nandar was slain a year ago during a confrontation with the elves of Ardeep Forest. Lately, she’s also been having a small problem with goblins trying to raid her town, and she’s recruiting anyone who can help her town guard get rid of these pesky intruders. She’s offering a nice reward in exchange.
Craig Purple, a human rogue, Valtyr, a human fighter, Ankharox, a lizardfolk monk, and Baluran, a wood elf druid, in search of new opportunities, have accepted the challenge. From the city of Waterdeep, a carriage headed down to Daggerfall, will drop them off close to Nightstone.
Intersection to NightstoneAfter a long ride, the party finally reach their destination: an intersection that will require they walk a few miles up to Nightstone while the carriage continues its long ride down to Daggerfall.
The party gets off the carriage, and while discussing the need to walk a ahead, Purple attempts to intimidate the driver into taking them to Nightstone. The carriage is already on its way though, and the driver looks back and calls out: “Good luck, don’t die!”.
After about an hour the party finally see town of Nightstone in the distance. Their first view as they come close is a wooden fortified city surrounded by a moat, and made up of two islands, one bigger than the other. The smaller one is taller, and has a stone tower on it. From a distance the party hears what seems to be a church bell going off erratically, but it does not seem like church service is being called. The party is also surprised to see a few plumes of smoke rising from the town.

The party cautiously continues, and walks up from the west to the main gate. As they get close the plumes of smoke seem clearer, and the bell continues to go off erratically. Nothing else much is heard, the town is awfully quiet. As they approach close to the main gate they realize it's open, and to add to their concern, there are no guards to receive them.
